Why We're
Here The AAF Omaha is the unifying voice for advertising
in the Omaha / Council Bluffs metropolitan area. We are the only
professional association that binds together mutual interests of
corporate advertisers, agencies, marketing and media services,
suppliers, academia, and other advertising and public relations
professionals. Above all, we come together to make advertising a
positive force in our economy and culture. We strive to be advocates
for advertisers' rights and to help educate policymakers, the news
media and the public on the benefits of responsible, well-crafted
advertising.
I've been a tried and true member for more
than nine years.
Why did you join AAF Omaha?
I originally joined because I was new to Omaha
and wanted to meet other professionals. I continue to stay a
member for the same reasons. Advertising is a wonderful
industry full of very talented, interesting people with a unique
outlook on life.
If you could have a super power, what would you
pick?
Without question, invisibility.
What time is your most productive part of the
day?
I'm NOT a morning person. I tend hit my
stride at magic hour. If the work day would change from 4pm -
1am I would be psyched.
What's your favorite season?
Autumn. It doesn't get any better than
jean and sweater weather, pretty trees and the NFL football
season.
If someone's underwear was showing, what would
you do?
You absolutely have to tell them! I
would attempt to discreetly pull them aside and let them know what
the situation is and provide any cover if necessary. We're all
in this together. <!--[if
!supportLineBreakNewLine]--> <!--[endif]-->
What is the last film you saw? Hot Tub Time Machine. I'll
admit, I was worried about going and had low expectations but I was
delightfully surprised. <!--[if
!supportLineBreakNewLine]--> <!--[endif]-->
If you could live anywhere in the world, where
would you live? A dreamy
place where it's a sunny 82 degrees on the beach and ample Diet Coke
nearby.
What do you like most about your job? I'm lucky to work in an industry
that is always changing and honors creativity. And, I'm lucky
to be working with people and clients who understand that
advertising is about a partnership and doing work that is going to
take them to the next level.
What did you want to be when you grew up? A tour guide. There's just
something about being able to see the world, understand the history
behind it and if you can share that with others it's a much better
journey.

AAF
protects
and promotes advertising at all levels of government through
grassroots activities. Our nationwide network monitors
advertising-related legislation on local, state and federal levels.
AAF puts our members face to face with influential lawmakers and
also encourages industry self-regulation as a preemptor to
government intervention, when appropriate.
The issues facing the advertising industry in
Congress, regulatory agencies and states continue to proliferate.
For advertising to continue to play a prominent role in the economy
(and our culture), we must be both knowledgeable and prepared to
educate decision makers about the implications of the issues they
address. Visit http://aaf.org/default.asp?id=168 and you
will find brief summaries of many of these issues.
You
can have the AAF Government report e-mailed every 5-10 days during
the congressional year; this e-newsletter provides a brief overview
of advertising-related policy and legislative developments on the
federal, state and local levels. Visit http://aaf.org/default.asp?id=22 and register to
for this benefit.
You're cordially invited
to Addy's... The sports bar, silly, not the awards show. Earlier in
the year, you heard us proclaim ,"Everyone's a Winner" at the ADDY
Awards. We're carrying that motto into the next AdNight event on May
25th at Addy's Sports Bar and Grill, 13806 P Street. We'll celebrate
this year's achievements with FREE tacos, chips and queso along with
INCREDIBLE happy hour drink specials throughout the event. Thank you
to our generous sponsor: Thought
District.
