Bruce Bendinger, is one of “Chicago’s Creative Superstars.” A Vice President Creative Director at Leo Burnett at 27 (the youngest ever), he has gone on to work on projects ranging from Apple Computer’s strategy system, Popeyes Chicken’s award-winning music with members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and he was even Creative Director for a President of the United States. Interviews with Bruce are in three of Studs Terkel books and he has a new CD of his old songs – “Can’t Sing. Don’t Care.”

He is author of The Copy Workshop Workbook, the #1 copywriting textbook, and, with his wife Lorelei, they now publish many of the leading books in advertising education. Talent seems to run in the family, Bruce’s daughter, Jessica, wrote Bring It On, wrote and directed Stick It, and also wrote on Sex and the City, though her father said she could only write on the City parts. They also have a Nebraska connection—Lorelei’s father is from McCook. They still visit often and supervise their family farm property in one of their favorite parts of the country.

Bruce will be offering two presentations for the price of one. First, 21st Century Progress Report, where he’ll provide a snapshot of the exciting (and challenging) changes going on in today’s marketing marketplace. Then, after a short break (and for those who have meetings they can’t postpone) he’ll take us through The Copy Workshop’s Creative Thinking Workshop, which gives everyone—creatives, account people, sales people, a number of useful approaches for solving marketing problems and presenting creative solutions.

It’s an AdBites you won’t want to miss, so RSVP by Thursday, November 9th to Teri at teri@novia.net or 561-6625.
